Should McDonald’s get rid of the toy that comes with a kids Happy Meal?

The food watchdog group commonly known as the “food police” are threatening to take the “happy” out of McDonald’s Happy Meals.

Admittedly, French fries, a hamburger and soda might not be the most nutritious meal choice for kids, but according to The Center for Science in the Public Interest, handing out toys with this kind of lunch is also “a pernicious, wrong and illegal marketing practice.”

The CSPI alleges that McDonald’s dangles toys in front of kids’ faces to tempt them into eating its Happy Meals.

Nebraska will seek Big Ten membership

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – The University of Nebraska plans to apply for membership in the Big Ten Conference and expects to be accepted.Chancellor Harvey Perlman disclosed the plan Friday during a meeting of the university’s Board of Regents.

Nebraska’s departure would be a big blow to the Big 12, which lost Colorado to the Pac-10 Conference on Thursday.
